Background (Preamble):
The Federal Government is trying to push changes to copyright law through Parliament which could lead to massive fines and jail terms for individuals, even if they're unaware of the crime or are trying to legitimately purchase digital media.

Petition:
We, the undersigned Australian voters, call on the Australian Federal Government to update copyright laws to permit people to use protected works on a variety of digital playback devices, including (but not limited to) mp3 players, computers, and dvd/hdd recorders without fear of imprisonment or fines.
We understand that intellectual property is important, but we call on you to understand that the way we now interact with the media we have purchased has changed from traditional methods; music on iPods, TV on PCs, etc.
